QLD TRANSPORT & MAIN ROADS - POLYMAX POLYMER TRAILER

Written by Roy Thrush | 02-Nov-2020 04:39:22

In this report, we examine why different organisations are choosing to use Rapid Spray's 1,100L PolyMax Emulsion spray trailer.

In one application, the trailer is being used in road construction so that operators can spray soil binding agents on any batters or bulk earthworks. This practice prevents erosion and reduces the amount of silt build-up in the basins. This application reduces the costly exercise of pumping basins out and cleaning the silt through out the project.

Rather than keep using more flocculants to maintain the sediment basins, with this new process, they can go upstream and prevent a lot of silt running off in the first place.

Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) new PolyMax Polymer trailer was provided by Rapid Spray Engineering, our newest department dedicated to empowering those who protect, maintain and care for the environment. With over 20 years of experience in manufacturing water trailers and tanks, the Proof is in the Performance!

TMR'S COMMENT ON THE POLYMAX

"Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads own a PolyMax Emulsion Spray Trailer and are experiencing success with spraying soil binding agents on batters or bulk earthworks to prevent erosion and reduce the amount of silt build-up in the basins. It's a responsive solution, particularly in the event of rain coming with short notice."

HOW ARE CLIENTS USING THE POLYMAX TRAILERS?

The polymer trailers are being used not only for their larger projects but where there is limited space to put in sediment controls. The PolyMax trailers can help with spraying these polymers down and leave them for three to six months and not have any issues with batters.

WHAT TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY IS BEING ADOPTED FOR ROAD PROJECTS?

Issues such as the sticky polymer clogging the pumps and the nozzles occurs when equipment hasn't been designed specifically for polymer spraying. This creates an unnecessary constant struggle for many companies to find a way to reliably and efficiently apply the products.

It is for this reason, the Rapid Spray Engineering team has designed the dedicated PolyMax range, which is a full polymer emulsion spraying solution that is reliable, efficient and removes the worry of clogged pumps or nozzles.

"The PolyMax spray trailer system provide teams who don' have time to waste, state of the art equipment that speeds up the workflow and has been designed and built to handle the toughest of conditions", quotes Russell Firth, Rapid Spray General Manager.

The PolyMax range utilises oil-backed diaphragm pumps and tank agitation system to ensure consistent product delivery through either handheld nozzles, batter sprayers or pressure bars when needed for broader area coverage.

Flushing the tank and lines so there is no leftover residue ensures ongoing reliability and safety.

Working from a base of proven tough chassis and tank designs, the Rapid Spray team can build any polymer spraying solution in capacities from 800L to 15,000L to suit any site's needs and specifications.

DO YOU NEED SPECIALIST TRAINGING TO USE THE POLYMAX SPRAY TRAILER?

"No, you don't need any specialist training. One of our team members will visit your worksite, and after a quick demo, your team will be able to use the trailer," said Russell. "The trailer is robust and will operate in the toughest of conditions. With that in mind, when we developed the trailer, we knew that it had to be easy to use."

As different crews across the one site are usually operating the trailer, the PolyMax trailer has been designed easy to operate so the first operator would be up and running successfully without having the learn a complicated system. As Russell says, "like most things, the easier it is to use the trailer, the more likely organisations are going to incorporate our equipment into their workflow."

"As a manager, the last thing you want is to invest heavily on a piece of equipment that requires massive amounts of training. That's why our design team created a trailer that a novice could use."

IS THE POLYMAX SPRAY TRAILER A VIABLE OPTION FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT?

Yes, the PolyMax emulsion sprayer is ideal for a local government setting. Due to the PolyMax trailer's simple design, operators will find that the minimal maintenance issues save them time and money. Russell attributes this to the "interest coming from local government authorities, running waste facilities, roadworks and earthworks projects."

"When a trailer is easy to operate and cheap to maintain, it can make a big difference to your bottom-line."

The Rapid Spray Engineering team are dedicated to building units which meet the customers every requirement. The versatile PolyMax range can be built to suit your individual needs and site requirements, which makes it your best affordable option.
