Challenging perceptions of poly

Written by Russell Firth | 07-Sep-2015 04:00:00

When looking for water cartage and liquid transport solutions, there are three main tank options – steel, fibreglass and poly.

Due to the perception that polyethylene is just ‘plastic’, poly used to be viewed as the less durable of the trio. However, users of Rapid Spray poly tanks Australia-wide have realised the sturdiness and longevity of polyethylene tanks, the many benefits they offer and the wide variety of uses they have.

Our poly tanks are made from UV stabilised high quality Polyethylene, making Rapid Spray tanks durable, weatherproof and long-lasting.

Chemical Resistant

They’re highly resistant to harsh chemicals, oils, and other potentially hazardous liquids such as fertilisers and herbicides. The Aqua-V range is also the ideal solution for transporting and storing potable water.

Hardwearing

Ploy tanks are highly resistant to the harsh Australian climate and will easily withstand very high temperatures year after year. So confident are Rapid Spray in the longevity of their tanks that they offer a solid 10 year warranty on all Active Liquid tanks and a 5 year warranty on the Aqua-V range.

Virtually Unbreakable

Poly tanks are very strong, but are also flexible enough to avoid breakage from accidental impact. With in-built flexi-link technology, Rapid Spray poly tanks can handle chassis twists and turns without cracking or damage to the tank.  They are made from rotationally moulded polyethylene which is virtually unbreakable.

Won’t rust or crack

Poly tanks are free from the problems associated with aging steel or fibreglass tanks and will never be subject to rust, cracking, loose fibres or water tainting problems that can be associated with metal and fibreglass tanks.

Various uses

Poly tanks are incredibly versatile and can be used for rainwater storage, irrigation systems, septic tanks, chemical and water cartage and everything in between. They’ve even been used successfully to store molasses and to transport live prawns!

Greater Payload

Due to their lightweight structure, Rapid Spray poly tanks are easy to manoeuver and allow you to carry greater volumes of liquid as the tanks weigh significantly less than their steel and fibreglass counterparts.

So before you look at poly as just another plastic tank, think again as these cleverly designed poly tanks offer liquid transport contractors so much more. Click here to find out more about the extensive range of poly tanks on offer or call 1800 011 000 to speak to a member of the Rapid Spray team.
